Unbeaten heavyweight Bakhodir Jalolov will face Chris Thompson on November 17, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman confirmed to The Ring Saturday night.

The scheduled 10-round bout will take place at the Humo Arena in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

November 17 will be a homecoming for Jalolov (13-0, 13 knockouts), who is originally from Sariosiyo, Uzbekistan and now resides in Brooklyn, New York. Jalolov will be fighting for the first time in Uzbekistan since April 2021, when he knocked out Kristaps Zutis in the second round.

Jalolov last fought on August 26, stopping Onoriode Ehwarieme of Nigeria in the opening round. The victory over Ehwarieme marked the first fight for Jalolov under the Top Rank banner.

In his previous fight on November 26, Jalolov scored another first round knockout over gatekeeper Curtis Harper.

The 29-year-old still competes in amateur tournaments for Uzbekistan. Jalolov won the gold medal in the super heavyweight division at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, defeating Richard Torrez, Jr. in the final.

Jalolov is managed by Vadim Kornilov, who also manages WBA world light heavyweight titleholder Dmitry Bivol, former world unified junior featherweight titleholder Murodjon Akhmadaliev, unbeaten super middleweight Bektemir Melikuziev, and unbeaten junior middleweight Israil Madrimov, amongst others.

Thompson (12-5-1, 7 KOs) lost by unanimous decision to unbeaten prospect Solomon Dacres of England in his last fight on August 19. In his previous fight on March 7, Thompson lost by unanimous decision to unbeaten Evgeny Romanov of Russia. He has lost his last three fights.

The 28-year-old Thompson fought the first 12 fights in his native South Africa, in and around Johannesburg and the capital city of Pretoria.
