Luis Alberto Lopez is set for his latest road trip.

The well-traveled Mexicali native checked in at 125.6 pounds ahead of his latest IBF featherweight title defense. Angelo Leo weighed the same as he aims to become a two-division titlist, with the benefit of a partisan crowd.

They meet this Saturday on ESPN from Tingley Coliseum from Leo’s home base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Lopez (30-2, 17 knockouts) has emerged as The Ring’s No.-1 rated featherweight. He’s done so the hard way, first with his Dec. 2022 title win over Josh Warrington in the Brit’s hometown of Leeds, England. He then traveled to Belfast, where he knocked out Michael Conlan in the fifth round last May.

Two more title defenses followed, both stateside. The latest came in an eighth-round knockout of mandatory challenger Reiya Abe on March 2 in Verona, New York.

Leo (24-1, 11 KOs) briefly held the WBO junior featherweight title. He won and lost the belt in the Showtime bubble at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The reign began with an Aug. 2020 points win over then-unbeaten Tramaine Williams, who replaced a COVID-stricken Stephen Fulton. Leo then dropped a twelve-round, unanimous decision to Fulton (22-1, 8 KOs) in Jan. 2021. One more fight followed at 122 before he moved up to featherweight, where he’s added three victories.

Leo’s four-fight win streak is accompanied by an extraordinary rate of activity compared to most in this era. Saturday will mark his third fight of 2024 and fourth in a span of just over nine months.

In the televised co-feature, Lindolfo Delgado (30-2, 17KOs) and Bryan Flores (26-0-1, 15 KOs) each weighed 139.9 pounds. They meet in a scheduled ten-round junior welterweight contest.
