The weekend is approaching, and from Friday to Sunday it will be “fight-o-clock” somewhere in the world. Every Thursday, The Ring will bring you the most up-to-date information on the most relevant fights you need to see in this week-at-a-glance, one-stop enhanced fight schedule. A quick checklist for the cognoscenti, a useful nuts-and-bolts guide for the boxing neophyte is what we’re aiming at.

Here are this week’s most relevant fights:

Thursday, September 12 – Dort Center, Flint, Mich.

Ardreal Holmes Jr. vs. Hugo Noriega – junior middleweight – 10 rounds

Joseph Hicks vs. Ronnie Austion – junior middleweight – 8 rounds

Da’Velle Smith vs. Esau Herrera de la Cruz – junior middleweight – 6 rounds

Leon Lawson III vs. Luis Alberto Veron – junior middleweight – 6 rounds

Where to watch it: DAZN

Friday, September 13 – Arena Sonora, Hermosillo, Mexico

Eduardo Hernandez vs. Thomas Mattice – junior lightweight – 12 rounds

Sergio Mendoza vs. Angel Ramos Serrano – flyweight – 10 rounds

Julio Porras vs. Isaac Torres – super middleweight – 10 rounds

Leonardo Rubalcava vs. Jesus Castorena – junior welterweight – 6 rounds

Where to watch it: DAZN

Saturday, September 14 – T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas

Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga – super middleweight – 12 rounds

Canelo is at a point in his career where he needs to juggle between opponents who are either challenging or profitable. Berlanga fits the second option much better than the first one. Berlanga’s string of first-round knockouts went to his head too quickly and he self-appointed himself as a superstar too quickly. Canelo will probably cut him down to size in definitive fashion, all while exploiting the fabled Mexico-Puerto Rico rivalry for their mutual financial interest. Should be fun to watch.

Also on this card:

Erislandy Lara vs. Danny Garcia – middleweight – 12 rounds

Caleb Plant vs. Trevor McCumby – super middleweight – 12 rounds

Rolando Romero vs. Manuel Jaimes – junior welterweight – 10 rounds

Stephen Fulton vs. Carlos Castro – featherweight – 10 rounds

Roiman Villa vs. Ricardo Salas – welterweight – 10 rounds

Where to watch it: Prime PPV, DAZN PPV

Saturday, September 14 – Viaduct Events Centre, Auckland, New Zealand

David Nyika vs. Tommy Karpency – cruiserweight – 12 rounds

Hemi Ahio vs. Faiga Opelu – heavyweight – 10 rounds

Nort Beauchamp vs. Jackson Jon England – junior lightweight – 8 rounds

Alex Leapai Jr. vs. Manusiu Fe’ao – heavyweight – 6 rounds
