News reached The Ring that Lukasz Rozanski will face Badou Jack later this year in Saudi Arabia.

The two will contest Rozanski’s WBC bridgerweight title [Editor’s Note: The Ring doesn’t recognize the bridgerweight division.] Rozanski had been due to face his mandatory challenger Kevin Lerena, however, the South African has agreed to take a step aside fee to allow Rozanski to face Jack, with the agreement that Lerena will then face the winner.

It is believed that Rozanski-Jack has to take place before November 30. Meanwhile, Lerena will see action against an as yet unknown opponent at home in South Africa on November 25.

It’s an interesting move from Jack, who is just a couple of weeks removed from talks to face boxing’s biggest star Canelo Alvarez. Although the Dubai-based fighter will spot Rozanski weight, he will enter the fight as the pre-fight favorite.

Rozanski (15-0, 14 knockouts) turned professional in his native Poland in 2015, where all of his fights to date have taken place. The 37-year-old has won the national title.

The big-punching Pole owns wins over once touted Izuagbe Ugonoh (KO 4), former heavyweight title challenger Artur Szpilka (KO 1) and, most recently, against previously unbeaten Alen Babic (TKO 1).

Jack (28-3-3, 17 KOs) is a former WBC super middleweight titleholder, where he made three successful defenses. He is never in an easy fight, he likes to test himself and, as a result, is often involved in close fights. He vacated his WBC 168-pound title and got his 175-pound campaign off to a good start by thrashing Nathan Cleverly (TKO 5), but he and then-WBC titleholder Adonis Stevenson fought to a draw. He lost against Marcus Browne (UD 12) and Jean Pascal (SD 12).

However, the 39-year-old won five fights and rolled back the years with an impressive performance to beat IIunga Makabu (TKO 12) in February.
