A traditional rivalry and a crossroads bout, rolled into one, will headline the next ProBox TV card.

Junior lightweights Ramiro Cesena and Orlando Gonzalez will square off tonight at the Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida. The 10-round bout will stream live on the ProBox TV application and YouTube page (8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT).

“We have a great main event (tonight, between) Orlando Gonzalez and Ramiro Cesena,” Chris Glover, ProBox TV executive director, told The Ring Tuesday afternoon. “It’s the traditional Mexico versus Puerto Rico rivalry. It’s a really good fight. People think Cesena will win this fight, but it’s a real 50-50 fight.”

Cesena (16-1-1, 13 knockouts), who resides in Loreto, Mexico, last fought on April 8, losing by knockout in the 10th and final round to Thomas Mattice. At the time of the stoppage, Cesena was up 86-84, 86-84, and 89-81 on the judges’ scorecards.

Replays showed Cesena was stunned by a punch, but was fighting back as referee Rafael Ramos stopped the fight.

The 23-year-old Cesena, who is promoted by Shane Shapiro, does have a victory over Bekman Soylybayev in a clash of unbeaten prospects in August 2021.

Gonzalez (20-2, 12 KOs) defeated former world junior bantamweight titleholder Rodrigo Guerrero in his last bout on March 11. The southpaw Gonzalez has won his last two fights since losing to Misael Lopez on September 23.

The 27-year-old Gonzalez resides in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and suffered his other loss as a pro to Robeisy Ramirez in October 2021.

In the co-feature, Mohamed Mimoune of Plant City will face unbeaten Steven Galeano in a 10-round junior welterweight bout.

“Mohamed has had a hard time (in recent fights), but he is a boogeyman,” said Glover. “We don’t want to stop him from getting opportunities. Steven Galeano is stepping up. I think it’s a really big step up for Steven, but it’s a really good fight. If Steven wins, then there’s bigger and better things. If Mimoune wins, he could get himself back into a big fight.”

Mimoune (22-5, 3 KOs), who was born in France, has not fought since March 25 of last year when he lost by unanimous decision to unbeaten prospect Cesar Francio. In his most notable bout, Mimoune lost by decision to former world titleholder Viktor Postol.

Galeano (12-0, 9 KOs), who resides in The Bronx, New York, knocked out journeyman David Morales in the second round of his last bout on July 23 of last year. Galeano has stopped his last three opponents.

Middleweight prospect Darrelle Valsaint (8-0, 6 KOs) of nearby Orlando will square off against Ghana’s Daniel Aduku (15-3-1, 11 KOs) in an eight-round bout.

The 21-year-old southpaw does have victories over prospect Leemont Johnson and fringe contenders Paul Mendez and Lucas de Abreu. Aduku was knocked out by Chordale Booker in his last fight on April 22.

Unbeaten lightweight Mandeep Jangra (4-0, 3 KOs) of India will face Nicaragua’s Yesner Talavera (15-15-1, 4 KOs) in a six-round bout.
